About the Western Ohio Writers Association

The Western Ohio Writers Association (WOWA) was founded in October of 2008 by Gery L. Deer and Barbara Deer. We have a wonderfully diverse group of writers that includes poets, novelists, journalists, screenwriters, professional copywriters, and other creative minds.

Learning Session
A WOWA member leads a discussion on finding inspiration for stories.

WOWA exists to provide aspiring and established writers encouragement in multiple areas:

  • Substantive, constructive feedback
  • A welcoming community to inspire and support writing of all genres and
    types
  • Opportunities for collaboration and informal learning
  • Periodic workshops and seminars led by WOWA members and outside
    experts

WOWA does this through monthly critique meetings, public reading events, and published works, among other means.

The Western Ohio Writers Association (WOWA) is an educational support service of GLD Enterprises Communications, Ltd.
