Beatnik Cafe

The WOWA Beatnik Cafe reading is a quarterly presentation that pays homage to the hole-in-the-wall poetry clubs of the 1960’s, but with a more modern style. Performing original work, each writer takes the mic to dazzle audiences with short stories, poetry, and other written pieces. Beatnik Cafe events are free and open to the public.

The Beatnik Café offers the public a glimpse at some of the most talented writers in the region as they showcase their work, in person, to entertain and enlighten. Active WOWA members submit written works for consideration, and a limited number are selected for reading in the 60 to 90 minute time frame of the Cafe.

The event is held quarterly and submission guidelines are posted on our page. Participation is open to members only so join today!
